1. Account information from Twitch
You sign in to Vyreel with your Twitch account. When you do, Twitch sends us your Twitch user id, login name, display name, email address and profile picture. We store these to create your account, show who is signed in and send you service emails such as data exports and post-stream digests.
We request the Twitch scopes user:read:email, user:read:chat and user:bot. The chat scopes let Vyreel subscribe to your channel’s chat while you are live so it can measure chat velocity and “clip that” reactions as a signal for moment detection. Chat messages are processed in memory for that purpose and are not stored.
2. Stream audio, video and transcripts
To detect clippable moments, the Service listens to a live stream and transcribes its audio. Depending on how you use Vyreel, that audio comes from the desktop companion app running on your computer, or from a Twitch channel you have asked Vyreel to watch from the dashboard.
- Audio is transcribed on our servers. Short audio chunks and the resulting transcript segments are stored so that confirmed moments can be rendered with audio and captions.
- When you confirm a moment, the corresponding video window is uploaded (from the desktop app’s local buffer, or cut from the server-side stream buffer), rendered into a vertical clip with captions, and stored together with a thumbnail in cloud object storage. Server-side channel buffers are kept only for a short rolling window (about 15 minutes) and then purged.
- Moment scoring uses transcript text. To generate scores, clip titles, hook text and hashtags, we send transcript excerpts to Anthropic’s Claude API. Only the text needed for that request is sent; audio, video and your account details are not.
- Vyreel trains a small per-streamer model on your own confirm and dismiss decisions so that suggestions improve for you over time. That model is used only for your account.
If you watch a channel you do not own, you are responsible for having the right to record and clip it. See our Terms of Service.
3. Connected publishing platforms
You can optionally connect YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or X so that Vyreel can post clips to them on your behalf. Each connection is created through that platform’s own sign-in and consent screen. We store the resulting OAuth access token, refresh token (where the platform issues one), the platform account id and username, and the scopes you granted. Tokens are stored server-side, are never shown in the dashboard, and are used only to publish clips you explicitly choose to publish (or that you have opted in to auto-publish) and to read back basic performance metrics for those clips.
The permissions we request, and why:
- YouTube:
youtube.uploadto upload your clips as Shorts, andyoutube.readonlyto read your channel name so Settings can show which channel is connected and to read view, like and comment counts for clips Vyreel uploaded. - TikTok:
user.info.basicto show your TikTok handle in Settings, andvideo.publishto post clips to your account. - Instagram (via Facebook Login):
instagram_basic,pages_show_listandpages_read_engagementto find the Instagram Business or Creator account linked to your Facebook Page, andinstagram_content_publishto publish clips as Reels. - X:
tweet.write,media.write,tweet.read,users.readandoffline.accessto post clips with video and keep the connection active.
You can disconnect any platform at any time from the Settings page. Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens for that platform from our systems immediately. You can also revoke Vyreel’s access from the platform itself; see section 4 for Google.
Your use of a connected platform remains subject to that platform’s terms and privacy policy, including the TikTok Terms of Service, TikTok Privacy Policy, Meta Terms of Service and Meta Privacy Policy.
4. Google and YouTube API Services
Vyreel uses YouTube API Services to upload Shorts and read basic channel and video statistics. By connecting your YouTube account you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to Google’s handling of your data.
Vyreel’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data we store is limited to the OAuth tokens, your channel id and channel title, and the video ids and public statistics of clips Vyreel uploaded. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not shared with anyone except as needed to operate the Service. You can revoke Vyreel’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google security settings, or by disconnecting YouTube in Vyreel Settings, which deletes the stored tokens.
5. Clip performance metrics
After a clip is published, Vyreel periodically reads its public view, like, comment and share counts from the platform it was posted to and shows them in your analytics. These counts are stored per clip and are visible only to you.
6. Billing, email and site analytics
- Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we store only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and plan status.
- Service emails (data exports, post-stream digests, waitlist confirmation) are sent through Resend using the email address on your account. Digest emails can be turned off in Settings.
- If you enable push notifications, we store the browser push subscription needed to deliver them. You can turn this off in Settings or in your browser.
- The public website uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which collect aggregate, cookieless page-view and performance data.
8. Retention and deletion
- Sessions, transcripts, moments, clips and publish history are kept while your account is active so you can review and re-use them.
- Server-side channel stream buffers are purged automatically after their short rolling window.
- OAuth tokens for a publishing platform are deleted the moment you disconnect it.
- You can request a full export of your data from Settings. Exports are written as a single JSON file (never including tokens) and delivered by a private link that expires after 72 hours.
- You can delete your account from Settings. Deletion is scheduled immediately, any paid subscription is cancelled at the end of the current period, and after a 30 day grace period your account and all of its sessions, transcripts, moments, clips, render jobs and publish history are permanently removed. Contact us during the grace period if you change your mind.
9. Security
All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit. Media is stored in private cloud storage and served through short-lived signed links. Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the Service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you.
10. Children
Vyreel is not directed at children under 13, and you must meet Twitch’s minimum age to hold a Twitch account. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. The effective date at the top will change when we do, and for material changes we will notify you by email or in the dashboard before they take effect.
